Ludwig Piano Quartet

Marina Grokhovski (piano)
Was born in Moscow, and studied at the Moscow conservatory and Russian of Music, Moscow. She lives and works in Prague now. In 1998 Marina Grokhovski became a Grand Prix winner at the International Competition of Pianists "Premio Gramsci di pianoforte", held in Cagliari, Italy. There she had also recieved a special acknowledgment of the jury for the best interpretation of contemporary compositions. In 1999 she has recorded a solo recital on CD, and in 2000 she has given the successful recital in Paris. She took part in several master classes. In 2000 has given with the Association "man in distress" in the Czech television benefit concert for help children without the diferents of nation and denomination, whose were afflicted by the war in Chechnia. This concert performed in the Palace of Lichtenstein in Prague.

 

Roman Fedčuk ( violin ) - was born in the Ukraine, and studied at the Tchaikowski conservatory in Moscow. During his studies he won the prominent international contest "Vianna da Motta" in Lisbon and later he won several other important international awards. As a soloist he cooperated with many european orchestras (for example: Zagrebian orchestra, Virtuosi Pragensis etc.) He also worked as a concert master in the famous "Moscow Soloists" chamber orchestra, conducted by Y. Bashmed. With this ensemble he had the opportunity to perform on some of the prominent word stages (Garnegie hall, Albert Hall, Gewandhaus etc.). Since 1994 he has cooperated with many chamber ensembles in Prague. He has been a member of the Ludwig Quartet since 1999.

Filip Kimel ( viola ) - studied at Prague´s Conservatory and then graduated from the Academy of Music Art in the Class of Mr. Lubomir Maly. He started to study the art of chamber music during his studies, he also participated in a variety of master courses of chamber music all over Europe (Villecroze, Trosingen, Dresden ...). He has been a member of the Suk Chamber Orchestra since 1993. He played an important role in founding the Ludwig Quartet in 1992.

Pavel Ludvík ( violoncello ) - graduated from the Conservatory in Pardubice (class of prof. won the third prize in the Beethoven Competition (1993) and the second prize at the competition of Prague´s conservatories (1992). 1996-98 he was a member of the Prague Chamber Orchestra. Presently he works as a concert master of violoncello group in the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Czech Radio. He performs as a soloist as well.
