Alexander Khristianov
He was born in 1970,
17th of August. In 1977 he entered the Music school for children by the P.I.Chaikovsky’s
Moscow State Conservatoire. In 1986, after graduating from this school, he entered
the theoretical department of the Music College by the same Conservatoire. At
that time he began to study composition under the guidance by composer A.Piliposyan.
In 1990, he entered the Gnesin’s Russian Academy of Music, department of composition,
where the professor B.A.Chaikovsky learned him. Under his guidance He studied
composition and arrangement. In 1995 He is graduating from the Academy. His
diploma program work is Concert for Orchestra, named “Maximes”, in which he
used the parts of poems by La Rochefoucauld.
In 1995 he continued the course of studies as an aspirant and after the death
of B.A.Chaikovsky, he graduating from it under the guidance by composer K.E.Volkov.
At the same year, he moved to Prague, where he lives at the moment. In a last
few years he entered two major competitions and he won both of them. These competitions
were “All Russian Competition for Young Composers” and “Moscow competition for
composers” as well. Many of his compositions were performed around the Europe.
For example, his “Preludes” for piano and “Two moving” for viola and piano were
performed on festivals in Prague and Moscow. His compositions were performed
also during “Moscow autumn“ festival, “Southern Czech Music Festival”, in Prague,
during charity concert his “Piano quintet with harfa” and some other compositions
were very warm welcomed by the audience. They were especially composed for the
“People in trouble” association, which is a part of Czech State Television charity
program for poor people. This year he also took part in “Jazz Bohemia Music
2001”, where played his sextet in jazz-baroque style.
